Yes, Dubai’s Atlantis Hotel opened with possibly the most expensive party ever. Reports noted how celebrities like Robert De Niro and Denzel Washington were in attendance along with pop singer Kylie Minogue, who earned a record $4 million for her performance (did not even last an hour) at the grand bash. The fireworks display, which promoters claimed could be seen from space, also was reportedly the most expensive and/or largest fireworks show of all time. The extravaganza at the new luxury hotel in Dubai defined largess.
